Sophia Recovery Centre launches virtual book club

An addiction recovery centre is looking to encourage awareness and understanding of substance use health.

Saint John-based Sophia Recovery Centre has announced the launch of a new virtual book club.

Three popular novels will be chosen each year featuring characters who struggle with substance use.

Discussion resources will also be provided, along with information relevant to issues faced in each book.

There will also be a virtual gathering for those interested in discussing the novel as a group.

Officials said the initiative aims to foster empathy, destigmatize addiction, and promote personal wellness.

More details can be found on the centre’s website.
