Special Olympics athlete from N.B. headed to Italy

Two New Brunswickers are headed to Turin, Italy, to represent Canada.

Jonathan Henry of Dieppe will be looking for gold in speed skating at the Special Olympics World Winter Games.

Mario Richard of Tracadie-Sheila is also headed to the Games as an assistant coach for figure skating.

More than 1,500 athletes from around the world will compete in eight sports from March 8 to 15.

The Special Olympics World Games in Turin are set to be the world’s largest sports and humanitarian event of 2025.
