St. George Fire Department Memorializes Davey Boyd On New Fire Truck

A tribute of gold and red will memorialize David “Davey” Boyd for years to come. Boyd was an honorary member of the St. George Fire Department, who was lost, along with his family, in yesterday’s tragic fire on South Street. The St. George Fire Department unveiled their new truck yesterday, and have since lettered Boyd’s name across the top.

A post to the Town of St. George Facebook page reads:

“Today we faced a tragedy in our community. We lost a beloved family and a wonderful honorary member of our Fire Department for over 40 years. We can not express in words how we are feeling but take comfort in knowing we are a strong community and we will make it through this together. We send condolences to the loved ones of those we have lost. We say thank you to the multiple Fire Departments who came to help their brothers in service. Our concern at this time is with our Fire Department, the dedicated men and women who give of themselves selflessly but who now need our support.. We thank you for all the calls, it will be a tough journey in the coming days but we are going to do it together. Plans are now being made for a memorial this weekend.
