St. Stephen under consideration for another money-making scheme.
The provincial government says about $43 million dollars could be generated by putting electronic tolls at the four major border points in New Brunswick, that also includes Aulac, Edmundston, and Woodstock.
A round-trip toll would cost drivers $10 per car and $40 per truck.
The province does say, however, the option needs more study in terms of international and domestic trade agreements, as well as constitutional obligations.
They also acknowledge the tolls could have ramifications for those making regular trips across the border.
