Have you ever thought of starting your own business, but have no idea how to get things started?
A new group called Startup St. Stephen is aiming to help local entrepreneurs with getting their businesses off the ground.
Co-founder Abby Pond says its a group of entrepreneurs, for entrepreneurs, who meet in an informal setting to share ideas. Startup St. Stephen is also part of the larger Startup Canada Network. “We know there are gaps in helping people that are in those initial stages of building business. A lot of people that are entrepreneurs might not necessarily even see themselves as business people yet. They feel like, ‘well, my business isn’t big enough or real enough, or it doesn’t have a shop, so I’m not really a business yet.’”
Pond tells us the group is a great starting point for all those who don’t feel they are ready to sign up with the Chamber of Commerce as a business, but would like to meet in a more informal setting.
Startup St. Stephen will meet once a month, and their official launch party on October 10th, from 4:30-6:30pm at Kelly’s On King in St. Stephen.
