Tourism operators in New Brunswick believe this is a great summer for the industry in the province so far and some say it is better than last year.
Tourism Industry Association of New Brunswick president/CEO Ron Drisdelle says many travellers are choosing to stay closer to home because of the increasing cost.
“Staycations have become more and more common. People are looking to find out more about their own province,” he notes.
Drisdelle says the weather has been ideal for travel this summer.
He adds many people who choose staycations will spend more time and money at their destination if the weather cooperates.
