It’s a big mess out there but the worst of the latest winter storm is over according to Environment Canada.
Schools in the Anglophone South District are open at the regular time today, but buses are running on a one hour delay. All schools in the Anglophone West School District are closed today because of poor road conditions. Classes at NBCC Saint John are starting later than usual at 9:30.
At the height of the storm, there were high winds and blowing snow which led to multiple calls for drivers to stay off the roads. And Saint John police report that there were no storm-related accidents investigated by them.
Please drive with caution due to the weather and road conditions.

“It was fairly low visibility,” says Environment Canada meteorologist Roberta McArthur. “Pretty much for southern New Brunswick the amounts that fell are around 15 centimetres.”
Saint John received just that, 15 centimetres, with winds gusting up to 102 kilometres an hour and roughly 5 to 10 millimetres of rain.
“For the rest of the day it looks fairly good, temperature will drop back down, there might be some flurries throughout the afternoon but not seeing any more accumulation,” says McArthur.
The storm was a bigger event for the central part of the province, and Bathurst received the highest amount of snowfall in the province at 28 centimetres.
