We may have gotten our first taste of spring the other day but Mother Nature is reminding us that winter is not quite finished yet.
Another blizzard is battering the region and Environment Canada meteorologist Jason Sheppard tells us we’ll see heavy snow throughout the rest of afternoon into tonight. Anywhere from 10 to 20 centimetres is expected to fall today with another five tonight.
He says the winds will stay high throughout the day and tonight leading to blowing snow. As well, temperatures will drop a little bit this afternoon into tonight around minus nine or minus 10. Conditions are expected to improve Monday morning.
As of early this morning only about 2 or 3 centimetres were reported in the Saint John area and, also this morning, there was also a mixture of snow changing over to ice pellets and freezing rain.
Police in both Saint John and the Kennebecasis Valley advising drivers to stay off the roads if possible.
