Schools in the Anglophone South School District and Francophone South are closed today with a mix of snow, ice pellets, freezing rain and then rain all happening this morning.

Classes at the community college in Saint John will be starting one hour later at 9:30.

Classes at the community college in Saint Andrews are cancelled for the day but the campus buildings will open at 9:30.

City Transit buses are running this morning but there could be delays because of road conditions.

Richard Lafortune of Environment Canada says drivers on their morning commute will have to contend with the freezing rain which will change to rain by mid morning and end by the middle of the afternoon.

It will be mild this afternoon but then the temperature will drop below freezing tonight which could cause slippery road conditions.

Another storm system is expected to come up the eastern seaboard tomorrow giving us a lot more snow beginning around noonhour.
