The 2015 Strong Kids campaign has an ambitious goal of raising $155, 000 so children that might not otherwise get the chance can participate in programs put on by the Y. To kick things off, Irving Oil contributed $40,000.
Saint John Y President Shilo Boucher says this will allow 100 kids to go to Camp Glenburn and no one knows which kids get the help.
The Y also announces a social media promotion involving snow and building snowmen.
Challenges can be issued on the Y’s Facebook and Twitter pages and the participants are encouraged to build a snowman and raise money.
Boucher tells us she has already issued a challenge to Wayne Long and the Sea Dogs.
