Sunday Morning Sports For February 24th

In Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action:

The Saint John Sea Dogs fell to the host Halifax Mooseheads 11-1.

Filip Prikryl had the lone goal for the Sea Dogs.

Saint John continues its four-game road trip Sunday afternoon against the Charlottetown Islanders.

In the NHL:

Toronto erased an early 3-0 deficit to beat Montreal 6-3.

Zach Hyman scored two goals in the final two minutes of the third period.

Elsewhere, Edmonton edged Anaheim 2-1, Vancouver fell to the Islanders 4-nothing, Boston lost to St. Louis 2-1, and the Rangers beat New Jersey 5-2.

At the Final 12 basketball championships:

Rothesay High beat Fundy High 70-67 for the AA girls title, Tantramar Regional High downed Ecole Sainte-Anne 76-72 to capture the AA boys title, Fredericton High beat Leo Hayes 82-43 for the AAA girls title, and Bernice McNaughton High downed Fredericton High 73-69 for the AAA boys title.

In ACAA basketball:

The UNB Saint John women beat Crandall University 65-43 while the men lost 87-70.

It was the final game of the regular season for both teams.
