The Mill Rats announcing their first round playoff dates against the Island Storm. It opens on March 5 at 7pm in Charlottetown then Saint John will host the Storm at Habour Station on March 7 at 7pm then on March 8 at 2pm the teams are back in P-E-I. Games four and five, scheduled for March 10 and 12, will only be played if necessary. The Mill Rats have won 10 of their last 12 games.

The Sudbury rink needed an extra end to win the gold in a hard fought game. Chester’s Mary Fay picked up the silver medal after not losing a game all week. It’s the fourth medal of the games for Nova Scotia.

On the ice in the NHL, the Montreal Canadiens blanking the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-nothing, meantime the Boston Bruins getting by the Arizona Coyotes 4-1 and the Carolina Hurricanes defeated the New York Islanders 5-3.
