Oland, of the family that owns Moosehead Breweries, was ultimately granted bail by the same court, the top court in New Brunswick, after his second-degree murder conviction was overturned and a new trial was ordered. He had been convicted by a jury of murdering his father, well-known businessman and multimillionaire Richard Oland, back in July of 2011.
The country’s top court heard the appeal in late October and reserved decision.
The decision is expected on Thursday morning at 10:45 Atlantic time.
