Teen dies in dirt bike crash near Notre-Dame

A 14-year-old boy from Notre-Dame, northeast of Moncton, has died following a two-vehicle collision involving a dirt bike and a car.

The crash happened on Route 115 in Notre-Dame around 4:07 p.m., Sunday, according to the RCMP.

Police say the collision is believed to have occurred when a vehicle attempted to pass another and struck a dirt bike travelling along the side of the road.

The boy driving the dirt bike died from his injuries at the scene.

The driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

A traffic reconstructionist with the New Brunswick RCMP is assisting with the ongoing investigation.

Police have not released any further information.
