A 13-year-old boy being honoured at St. Joseph’s hospital in Saint John for raising more than $4000 for breast cancer patients.
Adin Bedford tells us he decided to do this after a good friend was diagnosed with breast cancer. He told his mom they should do something but she didn’t believe him at first.
“I wrote it down on a piece of paper and showed it to her and we started making stuff to sell for a whole year,” Bedford said.
Adin and his mom, who is an esthetician, made healing cuticle butter, lip balm and bath bombs.
Laurie Flood is the executive director of the St. Joseph’s hospital foundation and she tells us she is inspired by Adin.
“I can’t tell you the feelings that I have had in the last week since finding out that Adin has worked so hard to support his friends but also others in our community that he has never met.” Flood said.
All the money raised by Adin Bedford will go to the Breast Health trust fund to help women with the costs of breast cancer that can include travel, breast prosthetics and more.
