Teen Who Led Police On Chase Has Another Court Date

A 15 year old who flew the coop from the Portage program and led police on a high speed chase from Norton to Charlotte County has plead guilty to 5 charges including being unlawfully at large, giving a fake name to police, and stealing a car.

The teen walked out of the facility then made his way to Norton, where he stole a car from an elderly gentlemen. He led law enforcement on a chase through the west side and onto the highway, reaching speeds between 150 and 180km/ph, before ditching the car off Hughes Road and convincing a driver to give him a lift.

When the car he was riding in was pulled over at a checkpoint he gave police a fake name. The court heard he called the youth jail at the Miramichi “basketball camp”.

The 15 year old is due back before a judge on June 27th.
