Temperature Records Set on Sunday In NB

The heat will continue across the region today with a heat warning still in effect.

This is day five of the heat wave in the province.

Sunday was a temperature record-breaking day in the Moncton region.

Environment Canada says the high temp was 33.4 degrees breaking an old record of 31.7 set in 1921. The high for the Greater Moncton region for today is 31, but the humidex will make it feel more like 39.

A temperature record was also set in the Grand Manan area. They hit a high of 29.7 degrees on Sunday. The old record was 28.2 set in 2016.

It was the third day in a row for temperature records in Grand Manan.

Temperature and humidity conditions should fall below warning criteria on Tuesday.
