Temperature Records Shattered Saturday

Saturday’s mild temperatures broke a number of records in New Brunswick — some more than a century old.

Environment Canada says it hit 14.1°C in Saint John, which beat the old record of 10.6°C set in 1902.

The high of 11.3°C in Grand Manan also beat the 1902 record of 10.6°C.

St. Stephen recorded a high of 14.7°C, which was 4.7°C above the old record set in 1969.

In Fredericton, it hit 13°C, which beat the old record of 11.7°C set in 1973.

Other records set around the province include:

– Bathurst: 11.4°C (old record of 9.4°C in 1895)
– Bouctouche: 12.6°C (old record of 9.1°C in 1998)
– Edmundston: 10.1°C (old record of 6.7°C in 1949)
– Fundy National Park: 12.9°C (old record of 10.4°C in 1998)
– Kouchibouguac National Park: 12.9°C (old record of 12.2°C in 1949)
– Point Lepreau: 12.3°C (old record of 11.1°C in 1949)
– Woodstock: 12.1°C (old record of 9.5°C in 1994)
