Tentative deal announced for educational support workers

The provincial government has reached a tentative deal with the union representing over 6,400 educational support staff.

Finance and Treasury Board Minister René Legacy acknowledged the hard work of both sides in reaching the tentative agreement.

“I want to give a shout-out to both negotiating teams for their dedication in making this happen,” he said in a government release.

He also pointed out how important these workers are in supporting schools and students every day.

CUPE 2745 includes education assistants, administrative staff, intervention workers, and library employees.

Details of the agreement are being kept private until the ratification process is complete.
