The Face Of Poverty In New Brunswick Is That Of A Woman

The face of poverty in New Brunswick is more likely than not to be that of a woman. So says provincial Green Party leader David Coon and he’s calling on the provincial government to make their lives easier.

Coon points out a single woman on social assistance only makes $537 a month and he defies anyone these days to make a go of it on so little and adds 42 per cent of families in New Brunswick with single moms struggle to get by in poverty.
