Texas Governor Greg Abbott says the way the leaders have responded to the hurricane is immeasurable, courageous and heroic.
Abbot says he’s grateful for the way they were able to evacuate so many people and minimize the loss of life.
He says to be able to get through the storm the way they did is nothing short of remarkable.

Abbott says there is a reality that we have to come to grips with and that is, we are just beginning the process of responding to this storm.
He says the number one goal from Corpus Christi all the way to east of Houston is still protecting and preserving life and rescuing everyone we can find.
Abbott referred to his phone call with President Trump saying he wanted to pass on his gratitude to the local leadership for their efforts.
