A Liberal government would eliminate hurdles facing women wanting access to publicly funded abortions in New Brunswick.
Currently, there’s a long-standing government regulation in place that sees medicare only pay for abortions approved by two doctors.
Provincial party leader Brian Gallant had previously said he would launch a review of that policy if elected.
But, during a campaign stop in Moncton earlier this week, Gallant told a crowd of supporters he would make changes quickly.
Access to abortion services in New Brunswick has been a hot topic for months.
Premier David Alward says he won’t be revisiting the issue.
