A Message from CEO Shannon Merrifield
The Saint John Region Chamber of Commerce is entering 2026 with renewed purpose, strengthened partnerships, and a clear commitment to championing the businesses and people who make our region strong. As one of the oldest and most active business organizations in Atlantic Canada, the Chamber today represents more than 700 members across the Greater Saint John region—entrepreneurs, not-for-profits, retailers, trades, energy sector leaders, manufacturers, transportation companies, tourism operators, and technology firms. Together, these businesses form the backbone of a region that has always been defined by resilience, ingenuity, and community spirit.
As CEO, I often describe the Chamber as “ the voice for business” – a place where business, government, and community meet to engage in honest conversation and tackle shared challenges. Whether through policy advocacy, small business support, major events, or regional collaboration, our work is grounded in a single mission: to celebrate business success, champion business needs, and help create a stronger, more connected Saint John.
This year, we are excited to deepen our partnership with YourSaintJohn.ca, a platform that showcases the incredible people, businesses, and stories that make our city unique. By working together, we hope to elevate the voices of our local entrepreneurs, strengthen community engagement, and help Saint John tell its story with pride and clarity.
