The deaths of three children have been looked at by the Child Death Review Committee. Their families were known by the Social Development Department.
Among the recommendations……When there has been an injury considered to be suspicious, the child who’s under the care of the province should be kept away from the household until the person responsible for inflicting the injury has been identified.
Another recommendation is to flag the medicare number of a child who’s in care when there’s an injury that requires hospital or clinical treatment so the Social Development Department can be made aware of the situation.
