This Is The Season To Give To Area Food Banks

The annual holiday food drive is underway at the Loblaw grocery stores, including the Superstore and No Frills, to collect food and cash for food banks in the Saint John region. You can donate until December 24th.

In New Brunswick, an average of more than 19 thousand people make use of food banks each month and the numbers usually increase at this time of year.

Dietician Kara Parsons says the food donated must be non-perishable and she has some ideas for donations if you’re unsure what to donate……Peanut butter, soup, pasta, rice, beans, whole grain cereals, canned vegetables in water as well as canned meat and fish.
