This Year’s Romero House Food Drive Could Be Biggest To Date

The food donated to Romero House through this year’s food drive being described as critical by the soup kitchen’s founder and executive director.

Two and a half trucks being filled with donations and it’s thought this year’s collection could be the biggest to date.

Carolyn McNulty says the donations are expected to last them until next year, and any donations they can’t use directly in the kitchen will go to wherever they are needed. She tells us the soup kitchen prepares now every day for 400 as compared to 300 last year.

Terry Richardson of Scotia-McLeod’s the Richardson Barton Group says this year they saw more donations coming from the commercial side from than the personal side which he says could be a sign of the times with the current state of the economy changing the dynamics.
