Thousands Pay Tribute To Capt. Jennifer Casey

Tribute was paid to Canadian Forces Snowbirds member Capt. Jennifer Casey on Sunday as her body was returned home to Halifax.

The 35-year-old public affairs officer was killed during Operation Inspiration when the plane she was in went down in Kamloops on May 17.

Governor General Julie Payette and Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan, along with Casey’s family and friends gathered on the tarmac for the ceremony.

Thousands lined the route as a motorcade led the hearse through Halifax and past locations in Casey’s hometown that were very special to her.

Operation Inspiration was created as an initiative meant to boost spirits during COVID-19.
