Thousands Raised For Girl Battling Brain Tumour

Many volunteers came out to support a family in Grand Falls on Wednesday.

Over $5,000 was raised for Emilie Guay. The eight-year-old has already had a brain tumour removed twice.

$1 from selected McDonald’s items purchased Wednesday at the local restaurant was donated to Ride For Hope supporting Emilie.

Among the many locals lending a hand was Miss New Brunswick, Joelle Kavanaugh.

She says the family is very involved in the community and even billeted two players from the town’s new Junior A hockey team.

The money raised will help them cover the cost of travelling and hospital expenses.
