UPDATED: Power Restored In Uptown Area

Power has been restored to thousands of homes and businesses in the uptown Saint John area.

Saint John Energy first tweeted about the outage affecting roughly 4,000 customers shortly after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday

The utility said power was restored by 5:12 p.m., nearly 20 minutes earlier than expected.

Spokesperson Jessica DeLong says the outage occurred after a loss of supply from NB Power to the Union Street substation.
