Public Health confirmed three new cases of COVID-19 Sunday, along with 19 new recoveries.
As a result, the province’s active caseload dropped to 133 today.
Two of the new cases were linked to the Bathurst health zone, the other was in the Fredericton region. All three patients have been linked to previous cases or contracted the virus due to travelling outside of the province.
Five New Brunswickers are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, including one outside of the province. Two of those patients are currently in an intensive care unit.
Vaccine update
The province also updated its vaccine rollout this morning, announcing 69 per cent of New Brunswickers aged 12 and over have now received a first dose.
Last month, Premier Blaine Higgs said restrictions would begin to relax once that number reached 75 per cent, with a target goal of Monday, June 7.
GNB has announced it will update the province’s progress on reaching that target with a press briefing Monday.
New Brunswickers who travelled outside of the province are being asked to register for a questionnaire as to whether they were vaccinated while outside of the province. You can receive the questionnaire by email by registering with Public Health.
