Three new N.B. MLAs to be sworn in Tuesday

New Brunswick’s Liberal party leader is just hours away from taking her seat on the floor of the legislature for the first time.

Susan Holt is one of three Liberal MLAs who will be sworn in during a ceremony at the legislature on Tuesday morning.

She will be joined by colleagues Richard Losier and Marco LeBlanc. All three won a series of byelections in late April.

Holt will represent Bathurst East-Nepisiguit-Saint-Isidore, Losier was elected in Dieppe, and LeBlanc will serve the riding of Restigouche-Chaleur.

The swearing-in ceremony will take place at 11 a.m., with Lieutenant-Governor Brenda Murphy administering the Oath of Allegiance.

All three MLAs will get right to work in the legislature, with their first sitting scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday. It is the first sitting of the legislature since March 31.
