“Thrilled” That is how the folks at the Crescent Valley Resource Centre are feeling about the likely return of their community policing officer.
Executive Director Anne Driscoll tells CHSJ News it’s been what they have been hoping for. We asked her what she has noticed since they have been without one.
Changes in the budget brought about by the “new deal” mean officers will likely be returning to the Street Crime unit, Traffic services and Community Policing in a matter of weeks. https://t.co/4x69mpobfZ pic.twitter.com/c1LGpLqnyU

Driscoll says “Some of them aren’t even aware that the unit has been cut and still come looking for the police officer or call. That happens almost regularly”.
Driscoll says often what happens if the officer is not here they just say forget it which is a shame. She says they hate to see that continuity broken.
Driscoll doesn’t think any lasting damage has been done with the absence of the community police officer but it’s good timing that the officer should be back this spring when members of the community are out and about more.
