N.B. Zones 1,2,3 Remain Orange; 6 New COVID-19 Cases

New Brunswick Health Zones 1, 2 and 3 will be remaining in the Orange level of pandemic recovery – at least for now – according to the chief medical officer of health.

Dr. Jennifer Russell says the colour alert status of Zones 1 and 3 will be reevaluated on Sunday.

Public Health is reporting six new cases of COVID-19 today (December 3) which are under investigation:

The Moncton region (Zone 1) has one case:

  • someone in their 30s

The Saint John region (Zone 2) has three cases:

  • someone under 19
  • someone in their 30s
  • someone in their 60s

The Fredericton region (Zone 3) has two cases:

  • two individuals in their 60s

The province now has 111 cases of COVID-19 with more recoveries since Wednesday and no one is in hospital.

About 1,500 people are currently in self-isolation – many of whom work in the health care field.

At the Parkland Saint John seniors facility, Dr. Russell says 10 residents and 6 staff members have tested positive for COVID-19 to date and testing continues.

Dr. Russell has also confirmed the Campbellton Zone 5 outbreak – which was declared on October 9 – is now officially over.
