Thursday Morning Sports For April 27th

Joey Ratelle scored with 13.9 seconds left in the third period to give Chicoutimi a 4-3 win over the Saint John Sea Dogs to tie up their “Q” League semi final at 2 games each. Mathieu Joseph scored two goals for the Sea Dogs. Game five is at Harbour Station tomorrow night at 7.

In the NHL, Vernon Fiddler scored with 5:05 left and P.K. Subban had a goal and two assists to give Nashville a 4-3 victory over St. Louis in the opener of their second round playoff series…..Six goals were scored in the third period in Edmonton’s 5-3 win over Anaheim in the first game of that series. Defenseman Adam Larsson had two goals and an assist for the Oilers.

The Boston Bruins have made it official by naming Bruce Cassidy as their new head coach. He took over for Claude Julien when the Bruins were struggling and led them into the playoffs.

In the Majors, Aaron Judge tumbled into the right field stands to make a catch and also hit a two run homer to give the New York Yankees a 3-1 win over the Boston Red Sox…..The Blue Jays and St. Louis were rained out. A-L East leading Baltimore got by Tampa Basy in 11 innings 5-4 on a bases loaded walk. The Washington Nationals, with the best record in baseball, beat up on Colorado 11-4 with Trea Turner almost hitting for the cycle for the second night in a row. In other play, it was Milwaukee 9 Cincinnati 4…..Chicago White Sox 5 Kansas City 2….Cleveland 7 Houston 6….Pittsburgh 6 Chicago Cubs 5…..Philadelphia 7 Miami 4….Atlanta 8 NY Mets 2….Seattle 8 Detroit 0…..Texas 14 Minnesota 3…..San Diego 8 Arizona 5….Los Angeles Angels 8 Oakland 5 and San Francisco 4 Los Angeles Dodgers 3 (10 innings).

In the NBA playoffs, Boston 108 Chicago 97 to take a 3 games to 2 lead and Washington 103 Atlanta 99 for a 3 games to 2 lead.
