Thursday Morning Sports For March 12th

In the “Q”, Maxim Lazarev buried a hat trick and Evgeny Svechnikov added a goal and three assists to lead the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles to an 8-3 victory over the Sea Dogs.

In the NHL, Tyler Bozak tied the score late in regulation and then had the only goal in the shootout to lift the Leafs to a 4-3 victory over Buffalo……The Rangers downed Washington 3-1 and Calgary upended Anaheim 6-3.

Leafs President Brendan Shanahan holding an impromptu news conference to announce Nazem Kadri will sit out the next two games as a healthy scratch. Kadri missed Monday’s game against the Islanders. He was relegated to the press box after oversleeping and missing a team meeting.

The Mill Rats are in Charlottetown tonight for the decider in the Atlantic Division semi final against the Island Storm.

In the NBA, Chris Paul scored 33 points as the Los Angeles Clippers beat Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma Thunder 120-108.

In the NFL, the Jets have traded for quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick who previously played for Buffalo and Houston. Veteran wide receiver Andre Johnson, who played 12 years in Houston, has signed with Indianapolis.
