he Saint John Sea Dogs kick off the regular season tonight at 7:00 against Halifax at Harbour Station. Last year’s championship season will be recognised with the raising of the 2017 President Cup banner.

Former major league outfielder Raul Mondesi has been sentenced to eight years in prison in the Dominican Republic for corruption and the mishandling of public funds while mayor of San Cristobal. Mondesi was the 1994 National League Rookie of the Year. He was convicted of defrauding more than $6 million during his time as mayor from 2010 to 2016.
