Traffic Changes On 2 City Streets

There are some new traffic changes on a couple of Saint John streets to be aware of.

New double-yellow traffic lines have been added on Main Street West just west of Simms Corner.

In a news release, the city said the lines have been added to help prevent vehicles from stopping on the rail crossing.

“Traffic is to remain to the right of these double-yellow lines, as is a consistent practice elsewhere,” said the release issued Friday.

Meanwhile, a yield sign has been installed in the right-hand slip lane from Millidge Avenue to University Avenue.

“Traffic in this lane is now to slow down and yield to any traffic already in a lane on University Avenue,” said the release.
