Tragic Crash Leaves Three Dead In Chatham

Three people have been killed in a crash in Chatham.

Miramichi Police says a 68-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman from Smith’s Crossing and a 21-year-old man from Miramichi were killed in the two vehicle accident yesterday.

In a statement, Deputy Chief Brian Cummings says it happened on Route 11 in the area of the area of the University Avenue overpass just after 5pm yesterday afternoon.

Police say the roads were dry and clear at the time and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The identities of the two men and woman are now being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.

Autopsies have been scheduled for the two drivers of the vehicles.

Condolences are pouring in on social media for the families.
