Transition House Is The Big Winner From St. Stephen Chase The Ace

The numbers are finally in!

The largest fundraiser ever in Charlotte County had a major impact on the local economy, but no one will feel its impact more than the staff and clients of the Fundy Region Transition House.

Officials say the St. Stephen Chase The Ace brought in $638,500.23 after all debts were paid out, along with the jackpot.

The Fundy Region Transition House is a safe haven for women and children who are leaving abusive situations.

The fundraiser lasted for fifty-one weeks, drawing thousands of people to St. Stephen on a weekly basis, filling the downtown core on Wednesday evenings from morning to night.

Jamie Linton of St. Stephen was the jackpot winner with $331,699 in prize money.

A date has not been set yet for another Chase the Ace, but the Transition House is in the process of getting another lottery license for the event.
