Trudeau Meets Virtually With Parkland SJ Workers

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made a virtual visit to the Saint John region on Tuesday.

Trudeau and Saint John-Rothesay MP Wayne Long met with front-line workers from Parkland Saint John.

“[Trudeau] was very concerned about the outbreak at Shannex Parkland’s Tucker Hall and asked for an opportunity to chat with and thank the people there for their leadership,” Long said in a tweet.

The visit came a month to the day after a COVID-19 outbreak at the retirement community was declared over.

More than 40 residents and staff tested positive for the virus between late November and late January. A number of residents who tested positive later passed away from underlying complications, including COVID-19.
