Trying to Determine The Cause of Fires Uptown and North

Investigators from the Saint John fire and police departments are trying to find the cause of two fires—a shed fire on the Irving property in the North end and a fire on Waterloo Street fire last night.

Platoon Chief Eric Garland of the Saint John Fire Department tells CHSJ News they believe 12 people were living in the units impacted by fire on 136-138 Waterloo Street.

He says four of the tenants received help from Red Cross Disaster Volunteers and the others found some other place to go.

Garland says so far the cause of the Waterloo Street fire is undetermined.

No one was injured in either blaze.
