Why do kids come to school late or why are they not coming at all?
Some of the reasons relate to poverty, abuse, a lack of family support or motivation.
Anglophone South Superintendent Zoe Watson tells us they are looking at how to fix it with a campaign called “Attendance Matters”.
She says the data shows its a bigger problem in high school than it is from Kindergarten to Grade 8.
A video, brochures and posters featuring an empty red chair are being used to promote the campaign.
