Tuesday Morning Sports For June 21st

In the Majors, Jose Abreu doubled home two runs off Boston closer Craig Kimbrel with two outs in the top of the 10th to give the Chicago White Sox a 3-1 win over Boston. In the bottom of the ninth, the Red Sox loaded the bases on three walks but couldn’t score the winning run. Baltimore blew a 3-0 lead, losing to Texas 4-3…..Clayton Kershaw improved to 11 and 1 as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat Washington 4-1. Kershaw struck out Bryce Harper three times. Stephen Strasburg didn’t pitch for Washington because of an upper back strain. In other play, it was St. Louis 3 Chicago Cubs 2…..Arizona 3 Philadelphia 1…..Pittsburgh 1 San Francisco 0…..Detroit 8 Seattle 7 (12 innings)……Cleveland 7 Tampa Bay 4…..Colorado 5 Miami 3 and Houston 10 Los Angeles Angels 7.

The Saint John Alpines will be honouring the late Vic Fitzgerald before their game Saturday afternoon at 4 against the Chatham Ironmen at Memorial Field. Fitzgerald died back in March at the age of 72.

At Euro 2016….. Wales advanced to the knockout stage with a dominant 3-nil win over Russia while England and Slovakia played to a scoreless draw. There are four games today with Northern Ireland against Germany……Ukraine takes on Poland……Croatia faces Spain and the Czech Republic goes up against Turkey.
