Two Arrested After Attemped Fraud

Saint John police say a man and a woman have been arrested in connection with an attempted fraud in the city.

Police say two people tried to withdraw a large amount of money at a west side financial institution on Thursday morning.

Several hours later, officers responded to an uptown banking institution and arrested a man and a woman from another province.

The 53-year-old man and 29-year-old woman are facing charges of attempted fraud and possession of another person’s identity without lawful excuse.

Both were due to appear in court on Friday.
