San Bernardino, California Police Chief Jarrod Burguan says the mass shootings which left 14 people dead and 17 others wounded were planned and terrorism hasn’t been ruled out. The two wore body armour and were armed with assault weapons, handguns and explosives.
Police have identified the two people involved in the shootings as 28 year old Syed Farook, an inspector with the county health department, who abruptly left a Christmas party at the Inland Regional Center before the shootings and 27 year old Tashfeen Malik who was either his wife or girlfriend. They have a small child who’s less than a year old.
CNN is reporting police got a tip which took them to a home about 10 miles away from where the shootings occurred. While police were there, a black SUV passed slowly by then sped off. During the pursuit, what looked like a pipe bomb also flew out of the vehicle.
The two suspects were killed in a shootout with police .
