Two Children Killed After Bus Crashes Into Québec Daycare

A tragic scene Wednesday morning at a daycare centre in the Montreal area.

Two children are dead and six others are hurt after a city bus plowed into a daycare in Laval.

Emergency crews were called to the scene in the city of Laval around 8:30 a.m.

According to media reports, the 51-year-old driver was acting erratically after the crash.

Police said the driver has been arrested and charged with homicide and dangerous driving.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said he was “devastated” by the news and offered his government’s support.

“I can’t imagine what the families are going through,” said Trudeau. “If there’s anything the federal government can do, we’ll be there.”

The cause of the crash is not yet known.
