Two dead in Cocagne crash

Another crash in Southeastern New Brunswick has left two men dead.

They were killed in a head-on collision on Highway 11 early Friday morning.

RCMP say the crash happened at around 2:15 am on the bridge crossing the Cocagne River.

The two drivers, a 62-year-old Tracadie man and a 31-year-old man from Stymiest, New Brunswick, died at the scene.

A passenger was taken to the hospital with what are believed to be serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Highway 11 was closed for several hours after the crash. It has since reopened.

Members of Ambulance New Brunswick, the Cocagne and Saint-Antoine Fire Departments, and the New Brunswick Coroner’s Office also attended the scene.
