Two men from Woodstock, both in their 50s, have been arrested in connection with the theft of church bells in Carleton County in July.
One church bell was taken from the top of St. Paul’s Anglican Church on Highway 540 in Kirkland and that bell is still missing. The other bell was taken from the Kirk Church in Northampton and that bell was recovered from a scrapyard in Fredericton.
The two men, one 51 years old and the other 52 years old, have been released with a future court date.
