Two New COVID-19 Cases, Six More Recoveries

New Brunswick reported two new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on New Year’s Day.

Public Health says both cases are in the Fredericton health region (Zone 3) and involve a person in their 60s and a person in their 70s.

Both cases remain under investigation, according to health officials.

Six more people have recovered since Thursday, bringing the number of known active cases down to 24.

The Fredericton region (Zone 3) has eight active cases, the Moncton region (Zone 1) has six and the Edmundston region (Zone 4) has five.

There are two active cases in the Miramichi region (Zone 7) and one each in the Saint John (Zone 2), Campbellton (Zone 5) and Bathurst (Zone 6) regions.

One person is in the hospital in intensive care.
