Two People Injured In Head-on Collision and Fire In Ice Fishing Shack

Emergency crews having to cut the roof off of a small SUV to get two people out after a head-on collision with a large pickup truck on Millenium Drive in Quispamsis.

Platoon Chief Kevin Clynick with KV Fire says the crash happened near Donlyn Drive around 5:30pm and the SUV ended up the ditch.

Once the two people were out of the vehicle they were taken to hospital with what’s believed to be minor injuries. Clynick says the passenger sustained some cuts around his face while a young boy in the pickup truck had a bump on his head and was checked over by paramedics but did not need to be taken to hospital.

Later on in the evening, around 8pm, crews getting a report of an outside fire at the end of the Cameron Road in Rothesay.

A portable propane unit connected to a 20-pound propane cylinder in one of the ice shacks off of the Renforth Wharf caught fire and was moved outside onto the ice.
